The problem still exists and it will be as long as Opera doesn't include a storage method.
But cookies aren't "readable" if cookies "encryption" is enabled. However, there is some problem with it, particularly in galaxy view.
Nevertheless, it's possible to overwrite default settings and so, settings cookie won't be created.
